Valley Water to work early mornings at Anderson Dam ahead of tunnel excavation

Valley Water is getting closer to digging the large outlet tunnel next to Anderson Dam that will allow the release of more water during a storm or emergency. To gain access to the tunnel, a substantial foundation of material similar to concrete needs to be placed. Work must occur in the early morning hours due to the availability of material from the suppliers.

As such, overnight construction activities will begin on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022, from 2 a.m. through 8 a.m. Crews are scheduled to continue working the same early morning hours on Friday, Sept. 9, Monday, Sept. 12 and Tuesday, Sept. 13. Work during the day is scheduled on Saturday, Sept. 10 beginning at 6 a.m. and conclude by 6 p.m.

Given the overnight work hours and non-concurrent workdays scheduled, Valley Water recognizes the inconvenience and impacts these activities will have on residents located near the dam and reservoir. Valley Water and the project contractor will make every effort to redirect construction lighting away from homes and minimize noise coming from our construction trucks and equipment. Thank you in advance for your patience as crews expedite this effort.
